We were making our way to the Rila Mountains, where we were visiting the Rila Monastery where we enjoyed scrambled eggs, toast, mekitsi, local jam and peppermint tea.

We wandered the site with other tourists

Yet strangely the place did not seem crowded. I’m not sure if it was the sheer size of the place, or whether the masses congregated in one area and didn’t venture far from the main church, but I didn’t feel overwhelmed by tourists in the monastery.

Headed over Lions Bridge and made our way to the Sofia Synagogue, then sheltered in the Central Market Hall until the recurrent (but short-lived) mid-afternoon rain passed.

Feeling refreshed after an espresso, we walked a short distance to the small but welcoming Banya Bashi Mosque, then descended into the ancient Serdica complex.

We were exhausted after a long day of travel, so we headed back to the hotel and crashed.

I had low expectations about Sofia as a city, but after the walking tour I absolutely loved the place. This was an easy city to navigate, and it was a beautiful city – despite its ugly, staunch and stolid communist-built surrounds. Sofia has a very average facade as you enter the city, but once you lose yourself in the old town area, everything changes.

Clothes can transform your mood and confidence. Fashion moves so quickly that, unless you have a strong point of view, you can lose integrity. I like to be real. I don’t like things to be staged or fussy. I think I’d go mad if I didn’t have a place to escape to. You have to stay true to your heritage, that’s what your brand is about.

Ambon, Maluku.News – Pengamat Politik Fakultas Sosial dan Ilmu Politik (FISIP) Universitas Pattimura (Unpatti), Amir Kotarumolas menyatakan Dewan Pimpinan Wilayah (DPW) Partai Persatuan Pembangunan (PPP) Provinsi Maluku dibawah kepemimpinan Aziz Hentihu didominasi wajah anak muda merupakan langkah berani.

“Bagi saya, keputusan pimpinan PPP Maluku cukup berani melakukan reformasi pada stuktural partai,” ujarnya di Ambon, Rabu (22/09/2021).

Amir katakan, PPP sendiri merupakan partai dengan azas keagamaan yang kuat, sehingga segmentasinya pun berdasarkan pada pembangunan berbasis agama.

“Ada dua model partai Islam. Yang satu haluannya pembangunan religi (development relegion) yang satu itu sosialis relegion. Cara masuk pada segementasi pun berbeda. Kalau PPP masuknya kanan,” ungkapnya.

Amir menandaskan, keputusan mereformasi pengurus yang didominasi anak muda, apakah resistensi dengan basis tradisional atau tidak.

“PPP memiliki akar politik tradisional yang sangat menyejarah. Nah, keputusan mereformasi pengurus yang didominasi anak muda, apakah resistensi dengan basis tradisional atau tidak,” bebernya.

Amir menambahkan, selain stuktur PPP dipenuhi wajah muda, power politik personaliti sangat penting untuk mendongkrak elektoral partai menuju kontestasi politik 2024.

“Orang-orang yang mengisi stuktur inti partai harus memiliki basis yang kuat, dan juga adalah tokoh dalam masyarakat yang mampu menggerakkan kebijakan partai sampai pada akar rumput,” pungkasnya.

Harga Sayur di Ambon Masih Stabil

Ambon, Maluku.News – Harga beberapa komoditas sayur mayur dan bumbu dapur di pasar tradisional Mardika, Kota Ambon masih cukup stabil menjelang musim hujan di wilayah setempat.

“Harga kubis, kentang, tomat, wortel dan buncis masih relatif stabil, bahkan harga tomat cenderung turun sejak beberapa pekan terakhir karena pasokan bertambah,” kata Irma, salah seorang pedagang sayur di Pasar Mardika, Rabu (22/09/2021).

Menurut Irma, harga sayur mayur di pasar tradisional memasuki awal musim hujan di Jember relatif stabil karena pasokan dari petani cukup, sehingga stok komoditas tersebut di pasar melimpah.

“Harga tomat memang mengalami kenaikan sejak Agustus 2021 hingga kisaran Rp20 ribu per kilogram, padahal biasanya harga dibawah Rp10 ribu per kilogram. Kini harganya sudah mulai turun,” tuturnya.

Tidak hanya sayur mayur, lanjut dia, harga bumbu dapur juga relatif stabil seperti bawang merah, bawang putih, dan cabai memasuki pertengahan September 2021 atau awal musim hujan.

“Hari ini harga tomat turun dari Rp13 ribu menjadi Rp11 ribu per kilogram. Mudah-mudahan harganya akan kembali stabil,” katanya.

Selama musim hujan, lanjut dia, pedagang tidak terlalu banyak menimbun sayur mayur untuk dijual kepada pembeli karena mudah busuk, sehingga dapat berdampak pada kerugian.

“Kami membeli sayur dari pengepul petani secukupnya saja karena komoditas sayur mayur mudah busuk dan tidak tahan lama,” ujarnya.

Widya Pratiwi Berbagi Tips Atasi Kekerdilan di Kepulauan Aru

Dobo, Maluku.News – Duta Parenting Maluku, Widya Pratiwi membagi tips atau saran praktis untuk mencegah dan mengatasi kekerdilan (stunting) bayi dibawah lima tahun (balita) kepada para ibu hamil di Kabupaten Kepulauan Aru, provinsi Maluku.

“Cara mudah mengatasi kekerdilan pada anak yakni menjaga pertumbuhan balita sejak dalam kandungan hingga lima tahun masa emas mereka,” kata Widya di Dobo, ibu kota Kepulauan Aru, Selasa (21/09/2021).

Menurutnya, sejak dalam masa kandungan hingga berusia lima tahun, orang tua harus menjaga pola makan, beri makanan sehat bagi anak, beristirahat secukupnya serta menjaga kesehatan dan imun bayi, menjaga pola makan yang sehat bukan karena memberikan makanan yang mahal dan mewah, tetapi memenuhi standar gizi yang dibutuhkan bayi di masa pertumbuhannya, disamping pemberian ASI ekslusif.

Widya Pratiwi yang juga istri Gubernur Maluku Murad Ismail, mengaku telah berkunjung ke Kepulauan Aru sejak Senin (20/9), mengingat daerah itu bersama Kabupaten Seram Bagian Barat dan Maluku Tengah menjadi fokus perhatian pemerintah untuk menekankan angka stunting yang tergolong tinggi.

Ia sempat berkunjung ke Posyandu Desa Tunguwatu, Kecamatan Pulau-pulau Aru untuk berdialog dan membagi saran praktis tentang pencegahan stunting kepada kaum perempuan dan ibu hamil di desa tersebut. Di Kepulauan Aru juga tercatat delapan orang balita meninggal karena mengalami gizi buruk pada 2015.

Widya menyatakan, berdasarkan Riset Kesehatan Dasar (Riskesdas) pada 2018, stunting di Maluku berada di angka 31,4 persen. Provinsi Maluku termasuk daerah di Indonesia dengan jumlah balita penderita stunting cukup tinggi berdasarkan standar World Health Organization (WHO).

Status ini ditetapkan berdasarkan Pemantauan Status Gizi (PSG) tentang prevalensi (jumlah penderita dalam populasi) balita stunting di Maluku dari tahun ke tahun.

Kunjungannya ke Kepulauan Aru selain untuk monitor juga sekaligus mengajak kaum perempuan serta instansi teknis di daerah itu untuk bergandengan bersama memutus mata rantai stunting.

Widya yang juga Ketua Tim Penggerak (TP) PKK Provinsi Maluku menegaskan, pihaknya bersama Pemprov Maluku saat ini menangani secara serius masalah stunting, melalui sinergi dengan berbagai pihak untuk melakukan pembinaan dan sosialisasi tentang kekerdilan yang berhubungan erat dengan masalah tumbuh kembang balita mengalami kekurangan asupan gizi.

Pelayanan posyandu di tingkat kecamatan dan desa, katanya, sangat penting untuk memperkecil terjadinya stunting pada anak-anak di usia emasnya. Sebab dengan mendatangi posyandu maka perkembangan pertumbuhan balita dapat dikontrol dan diawasi setiap saat oleh petugas kesehatan.

Kunjungan tersebut juga dimanfaatkan untuk berdialog dengan Bupati Kepualuan Aru Johan Gonga, terutama membicarakan berbagai bantuan yang akan diberikan kepada masyarakat di wilayah tersebut.

Dia juga melihat proses penimbangan balita, kelas ibu hamil, pelayanan KB, pemberian makanan pengganti ASI kepada sejumlah balita, penanaman 1.000 pohon Kelor serta menyerahkan bantuan paket bina keluarga balita stunting.

Stunting adalah masalah gizi kronis yang disebabkan oleh asupan gizi yang kurang dalam waktu lama. Umumnya karena asupan makan yang tidak sesuai kebutuhan gizi. Stunting terjadi mulai dari dalam kandungan dan baru terlihat saat anak berusia dua tahun.

Menurut UNICEF, stunting didefinisikan sebagai persentase anak-anak usia 0 sampai 59 bulan, dengan tinggi di bawah minus (stunting sedang dan berat) dan minus tiga (stunting kronis) diukur dari standar pertumbuhan anak keluaran WHO.

Atlet Layar Maluku Intens Berlatih Penguasaan Venue Pertandingan PON XX

Jayapura, Maluku.News – Gieska Silahoy, atlet putri cabang olahraga (cabor) layar Pekan Olahraga Nasional (PON) XX dari Provinsi Maluku intens berlatih untuk penguasaan venue tempat pertandingan yang berlokasi di pantai Lantamal X Jayapura.

“Atlet layar Maluku tetap fokus latihan di area venue. Gieska akan bertanding all out untuk bisa merebut medali PON XX Papua,”kata pelatih layar PON Maluku Yan Ayal di lokasi venue PON layar, Selasa (21/09/2021).

Ayal mengaku, latihan permainan menjelang PON XX bertujuan untuk mengenal situasi tempat pertandingan, melihat perubahan cuaca dan gelombang air laut.

“Latihan ini diharapkan bisa meningkatkan kemampuan atlet layar untuk lebih mengenal tempat pertandingan PON XX Papua,”ungkapnya.

Dijelaskan Ayal, anak asuhnya Gieska Silahoy akan tampil di kelas layar radial putri pada PON XX Papua berlangsung 2-15 Oktober 2021 mendatang. Sedangakn menyangkut target medali PON Papua, dirnya tetap optimistis untuk meraih medali meski persaingan sesama atlet dari berbagai daerah Indonesia akan berlangsung ketat dalan menyabet medali PON Papua.

“Atlet layar Maluku siap menghadapi pertandingan PON XX Papua,” tandasnya.

Sekedar diketahui, Cabang olahraga layar PON XX Papua berlangsung 2-15 Oktober 2021 dan akan mempertandingkan 17 lomba perebutan medali di 15 kelas.
